About Me

Vlaluna is an editorial fashion magazine about modern workwear: the clothing you wear to build your career, your daily rhythm, and your sense of self. I’m Alice, a designer based in Milan, and I publish practical, design-led guidance for anyone who wants to look professional without losing personality, comfort, or clarity.

You come here for workwear that functions in real life. The goal is to help you dress with confidence for interviews, commutes, client meetings, and long workdays, using clear frameworks you can apply again and again.

What you will find here

  • Workwear guides for different professional settings (corporate, creative, hybrid, client-facing)
  • Capsule wardrobe planning for office life, built around versatility, seasonality, and repeatable outfits
  • Dress code decoding with context for industries like finance, hospitality, tech, consulting, and creative agencies
  • Fabric and fit insights focused on comfort, movement, and practicality (breathability, wrinkle resistance, durability)
  • Style psychology and presence: how clothing can influence confidence, posture, and how you show up
  • Design inspiration drawn from real work environments and city business hubs

What you will NOT find here

  • Runway coverage, celebrity style commentary, or trend-chasing for its own sake
  • Unrealistic “perfect outfit” advice that ignores commute realities, climate, and repeat wear
  • Medical, legal, or financial advice

My background

I grew up near Florence, surrounded by wardrobes built for real jobs: shops, offices, studios, and workshops. Early on, I noticed how a well-fitted blazer could change posture, how a crisp uniform could create pride, and how tailoring could speak quietly but clearly.

I moved to Milan for fashion school and narrowed my focus further. I didn’t want to design for fantasy. I wanted to study and design for working lives and real ambition. Vlaluna began as a university project where I researched modern workwear, functional textiles, and the psychology of clothing, and it grew into an editorial home for that research and those ideas.

I’ve worked on university-industry projects, designed concept collections for different work environments, and researched modern dress codes across business hubs including Milan, London, Zurich, Berlin, and Amsterdam. Vlaluna is independently owned and edited, and I’m responsible for everything published here.

How I build advice you can trust

I treat workwear like a design problem with human stakes. Every piece of guidance is built around function, context, and clear definitions.

  • Research-first approach: I write from design fundamentals, textile considerations, and workplace context, not aesthetics alone.
  • Function and constraints: I prioritize comfort, movement, climate, commute realities, and repeat wear because that’s what you face every week.
  • Clear definitions: I explain what common terms mean (smart casual, business formal, business professional) so you can make decisions without second-guessing.
  • Frameworks you can reuse: Instead of one-off outfit ideas, I share repeatable systems (capsules, outfit formulas, proportion logic) you can adapt to your wardrobe.
  • Updates and corrections: I refresh posts when dress codes shift, new materials become common, or reader needs evolve. If I correct an error, I update the article.
  • Transparency: If something is opinion, I label it as perspective. If something is a framework, I show you how to apply it.
  • Respectful language: Vlaluna avoids body-shaming and unrealistic standards. Workwear should support your life, not police it.
