There’s a myth going around that a week in Bali means you have to choose between the temples, the waterfalls or the beach. That’s just not true! Bali is small enough that you can chase all three in seven days if your route makes sense.
This list is basically a cheat sheet for that route. I went through way too many travel boards and saved only the stops that are actually worth the drive, not just pretty in a photo.
Some of these are the big famous ones everyone puts on a bucket list. Others are quieter spots most tourists drive right past, lol!
You don’t need to hit all 17 in order! Pick a handful that match your pace and build your days around them.

We start the trip strong with the rice terrace sunrise walk in Ubud. The light hits around six and turns the valley gold, no filter required!

Tegalalang Rice Terrace Photo Spot

Canggu Surf Lesson Morning
Canggu mornings are basically made for surf lessons. The beach breaks are gentle enough for beginners but still fun if you are rusty.

Traffic gets chaotic in Canggu and Seminyak. I still go slow there and my nerves thank me for it. Not worth the risk, honestly!

Sekumpul is one of the hidden gems bali travelers rave about once they find it. The hike down is steep and a little muddy, but multiple waterfalls appear at once!
I wore shoes I did not mind ruining and still slid twice. The reward at the bottom made the climb back up worth every curse word, lol!

Secret Gardens Of Sambangan
The Secret Gardens of Sambangan pack seven waterfalls into one river trek. Locals lead you between natural pools and rope swings most tourists never hear about.
It is a full morning activity, not a quick stop. I packed snacks because there is nowhere to buy food along the trail. I was glad I did!

Abandoned Bali Bird Park
The abandoned Bali Bird Park sounds eerie and it kind of is. Empty cages, overgrown paths and old signage sit frozen since it closed years ago.
I found access tricky since it is not officially open to visitors. Research the current entry rules before you go, or you might just be staring through a fence. Not exactly a fun surprise!

Tukad Cepung Waterfall Cave
Last but definitely not least, we have Tukad Cepung. Sunlight beams down through a narrow cave gorge and lands right on the waterfall below!
