Party season is quickly approaching, you guys. My brain is already three tables ahead!

One of my favorite things about hosting, besides the coffee I make myself while everyone else drinks mimosas, is setting up the sweets table before a single guest arrives.

We argued about height differences for a solid twenty minutes, lol!

Since parties are only a couple of short weeks away for most of us, gathered here are 20 adorable dessert table ideas the whole crowd will love. Don’t fret if you’ve never styled a table before; everything used to just get shoved onto one plate, haha!

From macaron towers to charcuterie boards and everything sweet in between, there’s something here for every kind of gathering. Under each idea, the little details you actually want to know have been added, plus a link to the full step-by-step.

DESSERT TABLE IDEAS

1. Pastel Macaron Tower Display

We’re starting off strong with a pastel macaron tower. Mine gets stacked by color instead of flavor so it looks intentional even if it came from a grabbed mixed box.

The tower does most of the decorating work by itself. Nobody needs to know how many broke on the way home from the bakery, lol!

A little gold ribbon around the base adds just enough sparkle.

  • Height does the heavy lifting
  • Stacks in under ten minutes
  • Works with store bought macarons

2. Rustic Wood Cupcake Stand

A rustic wood stand changes the whole mood of a cupcake table. It looks like something from a farmhouse wedding without the farmhouse wedding budget.

An old cutting board gets sanded down with a few risers stacked on top.

Even a five dollar board from a thrift shop works wonders.

  • The thrift store find that started it all
  • Costs almost nothing to build
  • Holds up to two dozen cupcakes

3. Gold Frame Dessert Backdrop

  • One coat of gold changes everything
  • Any old frame works
  • Dries in about an hour

4. Floral Cake Centerpiece Setup

A floral centerpiece turns a plain cake into the main event. Fresh flowers tucked around the base look expensive, but they cost about as much as a grocery store bouquet.
