20 Valentine’s Day Natural Hairstyles and Sweet Styling Ideas

Looking for valentine's day natural hairstyles with a little something extra? Heart-shaped parts, red bows and tiny pink flowers give you plenty to choose from.
There are curls, puffs and braided updos here, plus a few smoother styles to borrow accessory ideas from.
You can keep things simple or go all out. I especially love the heart details, but you don’t need an intricate hairstyle to join in. A bow or a few flowers can be your whole Valentine's Day touch.
Sweet Hairstyle Ideas to Save for Valentine's Day
heart part and high ponytail
We’re starting off strong with this cute heart-shaped section beside a high ponytail. I love how clearly you can see the heart against the smooth sides.
Save this close-up if you want to ask for the same parting. The little swoop near the ear is worth keeping too.
low bun and burgundy bow
How pretty is this burgundy bow? The broad side braid leads into a low bun, with the long ribbon ends hanging below it.

This photo shows a smoother hairstyle rather than loose natural curls. If you’re borrowing just one detail for your own textured bun, I’d choose that oversized bow.

heart cornrows and braided bun
This braided heart may just be one of my favorite details here. I love how it sits right above the ear, with the other cornrows running back into a low bun.
Ask your braider about keeping the heart on the side so you can see it without turning all the way around.
pink wrap and piled-up curls
If you love pink but don’t want to add little clips everywhere, this one is for you. The pink headwrap is tied at the front with a big pile of curls left out above it.
Those loose spirals make the look so cute.
side-swept curls and pearl-like clip
I am obsessed with these curls. The smooth section on one side lets that gold-tone clip with pearl-like accents show up so clearly.
Keep a few curls loose near your face if you want to follow this look. You really don’t need another accessory here.
side heart and low bun
Here’s another lovely way to work a heart into cornrows. This one sits near the temple, with a curved braid running beneath it toward the low bun.
The little curved edges beside the heart are so pretty. Bring this side view along if that’s the detail you want your braider to see.

double puffs and red ribbons
How cute are these matching red bows? The center part and two curly puffs already look adorable, but those long ribbon tails make this feel extra sweet.
Try a bow at the front of each puff so both show up from the front.
heart-shaped low bun
Don’t want to add pink or red to your hair? No problem!
This smooth low bun has a heart shape all on its own, with loose curled ends hanging underneath.

It’s a sculpted updo rather than a loose curly style. I’d bring the photo to a stylist instead of trying to describe that shape.
bantu knots and a heart part
I love this heart-shaped section in the middle of the Bantu knots. It’s such a cute surprise at the back, especially with a little knot sitting right inside it.
Keep the surrounding sections geometric if you want the same mix of straight lines and curves.
low puff and cream headband
If you are looking for something a little more understated, this one is for you. A wide cream headband sits behind the loose front curls, with the rest gathered into a low puff.
I’d keep those face-framing curls just like this.

red braids and beaded ends
If you are looking for lots of color, then this one is for you. There’s bright red throughout the high ponytail, plus beads on the shorter braids around the face.
I love the mix of braids and loose wavy lengths. If you’re not planning a color change, you could borrow the red bead detail instead.
high twisted bun
This high bun is so pretty without any bows or flowers. The smaller twists lead up into a much fuller bun, with a single twist left hanging beside the face.
Save this one if you want your hairstyle itself to be the main detail.
pink panels and tiny braids
The pink and burgundy pairing is so cute in this half-up hairstyle. I especially love the skinny front braids next to the curved bangs.
This is a straighter, color-focused reference rather than a natural-curl look. You could borrow the two small face-framing braids without changing your own hair color or texture.
heart sections and red clips
OMG, how adorable are these sparkling red hearts? The little red elastics sit inside shaped sections across the top, with a heart accessory beside each bun.
There’s already plenty going on with the parting. Stick with matching accessories if you want to follow this red-on-red look.
full curls and red roses
I am obsessed with these red roses tucked into the side of the curls. The lighter curl tips are gorgeous too.
If you want a flower detail that doesn’t disappear into your hair, try a cluster on one side like this rather than scattering small flowers throughout.
curly puff and front braids
This is one of my favorite puff ideas on the list. I love the long front braids with the loose spirals beside them.
The sides are swept back while the curls spread out behind the head. Keep those front pieces separate if you want the same mix.
pink bows and tiny flowers
Who says you have to choose between bows and flowers? This high curly updo has both, plus little white pearl-like accents scattered through the hair.
The pink bows are my favorite part. For a simpler version, you could use just those and leave off the other decorations.
short curls and a full fringe
Don’t want to add hearts or ribbons to your hair? No problem there!
These short curls look lovely on their own, with a full curly fringe falling over the forehead. I’d leave this one accessory-free.
half-up curly double buns
This is another double-bun idea, but it’s a little different from the ribbon look above. I love how much of the hair is left down in curls around the shoulders.
Try this half-up version if you want the little buns without gathering all your hair into them.
gold-tone clips and sculpted edges
Last but definitely not least, we have these pretty gold-tone accessories and sculpted edges. I love the butterfly clip beside the curls!
The close-up shows little loops and waves along the hairline, with a chain-style accent on the other side. You could borrow just the butterfly if you prefer less detailed styling.
